Migrate Devices From Other EMMs

The solution depends on whether the device is enrolled in a fully-managed mode, or in a BYOD setup.


1. Device Owner mode 

Android makes factory-reset compulsory to enroll a fully-managed device to a EMM.
If you have an existing EMM in fully-managed mode, you will need to:

  1. Set up a process to backup the phone data (optional)
  2. Factory reset each device
  3. Enroll the device using Zero Touch, QR code or NFC
  4. Restore the backup

We can assist you to set up a backup solution for your devices.

 

2. Work Profile mode for BYOD 

Existing work profiles can be uninstalled, either by the previous EMM admin or by the user of the device.

It is possible to uninstall a work profile of a device in the Settings app, in Accounts > Work > Remove Work Profile.
