What is the Advanced Device Status Update configuration?
When the Advanced Device Status Update configuration is enabled, the device data on the WizyEMM console updates every 15 minutes. This applies to the Last Contact, Geolocation, and Network information fields.
This feature requires the deactivation of the battery optimization for the Companion application.
What is the Device Usage configuration?
Activating the Device Usage feature will collect and report the device and application usage on any enrolled device.
The following data points are collected:
- Total Time Used
- Total Wifi Sent / Received
- Total Mobile Sent / Received
The reported information can be found in the Usage tab, on a device page.
Step by step process on how to enroll the device when the Advanced Device Status Update and Device Usage are enabled:
Prior to enrollment, these configuration should be enabled first inside a profile
Once these are enabled and the profile is saved, you can now proceed with scanning the QR Code.
The device should go through the initial setup of being bound to WizyEMM
Once this pop-up appears when installing the Companion App, click OPEN (this is for Device Usage)
Once it's opened, search for the Companion app and enable this switch
After enabling, go back to the setup screen. When the setup screen is displayed again, another pop-up will appear like this. Click OPEN (this is for the Advanced Device Status Update)
Once this screen is displayed, select to display all applications, then search for the Companion app
At first, the Companion app switch is enabled, disable it. Then go back to the setup screen again.
Once these steps are done, installing the Companion app should be complete and the user can now go through the usual device setup.
