There have been issues when enrolling an Android 8 or Android 9 device where the enrollment is blocked and there is an error message shown:

Check permissions
Check basic permissions grant
Some permissions were not granted:android.permissions.READ_PHONE_NUMBERS

A workaround for the enrollment to work is to configure the profile:

  1. Go to Profile Management > select the profile that you're using
  2. Go to the Configuration tab inside a profile
  3. Search for the Permission Management configuration
  4. A dropdown option is shown to let the user select the default permission policy for the device, from Grant change value to Prompt, then save the profile
  5. Re-enroll the device

For context, this has been a known issue from Google's side where it affects the Android DPC. We will roll out a release for this as soon as we have enough information from Google's side.
